Although plasma therapy is still considered an experimental treatment, there are many signs and stories of promise. In many cases, it is the only remaining hope for their loved one. There are also many stories of plasma needed and not yet available or not available in time. My dad, Lorenzo Rodriguez is 83 years old and contracted the COVID-19 virus. He was placed in ICU on a ventilator in isolation on April 3, 2020. After reading about Kevin Rathel's story, I asked nurses & Dr if he could be a candidate for the convalescent plasma treatment as well. He has been placed on a waiting list. His entire family and I are faithful and awaiting that someone will donate the plasma needed for his recovery. Lots of prayers and well wishes to you Dad! UPDATE: My dad received Plasma therapy treatment on Friday, April 17th. Within days he was showing improvement and yesterday, April 26th, he was taken off the ventilator and today I Zoomed with him and he was talking/responding to me. I am extremely grateful for whoever donated plasma so my dad can live. We are very hopeful now that he will make it.
